Old Ragdoll Games

People searching for an old ragdoll game are usually trying to name a toy they remember. I only list titles I can attach to a year and a platform from a public page.

A 1997 research still. It is not the missing Flash game.

Titles with a year I will stand behind

Jurassic Park: Trespasser (1998, Windows) is the early commercial marker. Rag Doll Kung Fu later turned the floppy fighter into a party game on Windows; similarly named spin-offs should not be treated as ports. FlatOut used crash physics as the sport. Turbo Dismount made the crash the whole toy. Garry's Mod (2006) is the sandbox that taught a generation to pick a body up with a physics gun.

I do not have two sources that name one specific 2002 Flash ragdoll file. The search volume is real, and the memory is real, but the filename is not on a page I trust. Ruffle can run some Flash content in the browser. Compatibility is per SWF, and I will not promise a particular cartoon loads.

Older titles with a public year. Blank cells are ones I refused to guess.

Identify a remembered Flash game

Use the scene, controls and host site as identifiers. Was it a stair-fall score toy, a mouse-drag dummy, a vehicle crash, or a fighting game? Record any visible logo, character colors and approximate school year; those details discriminate better than “2002 ragdoll”.

A screenshot or archived title screen can connect a memory to an actual title. The year in a search phrase is not sufficient evidence of a release date. If you find a legally available SWF, check its title and author before trying Ruffle; support is per file, not universal.

Questions people actually ask

What was the first game with ragdoll physics?

Trespasser (1998) is the commercial title public histories name. See the history page for the 1997 research still.

How do I play the old Mac Flash game?

I cannot name the SWF. If you still have the file, Ruffle is the maintained Flash stand-in to try. I have not certified a particular file.
